EXPLORING SAN DIEGO|MISSION BEACH

So I've decided to turn our little adventures into a weekly series which will include photos of the new/old places we visit as a family. I think it's going to be great to have these memories for the kids to see down the years.
(Totally forgot this was a draft! Buy this little outing happened a couple of weeks ago.)

HOMEMADE PLAYDOUGH

My kids LOVE playdough, my least favorite but their absolute favorite. Every single time we buy it for them they get all the colors mixed up and it dries out within a couple of days. My husband had said absolutely no more playdough because it had gotten on the carpet and it was a pain getting it out. But Sophia has been asking for it everytime she sees it at the store and since i'm the cool mom (lol) I decided to make it this past weekend and let the kids do it themselves. I had Sophia mix all the ingredients and she had an absolute blast. It was really easy to make and it smelled super yummy. Even daddy joined in on the fun and the kids played with it for hours. I plan on making some as party favors with all sorts of colors for Sophia's birthday coming up in a few months, it's practically edible so it will be a good substitute for candy. Haha jk!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

WHITE FLOUR 1 CUP
WARM WATER 1 CUP
COOKING OIL 2TBSP
SALT 2TBSP
CREAM OF TARTAR 2 TBSP
JELLO 1 3OZ PACKAGE

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat stirring into it turns into a ball of dough (took about 5 minutes for me) Let cool on a floured cutting board for about 20 minutes and knead with flour until no longer sticky.

REPURPOSED SODA CRATE TURNED COFFEE MUG HOLDER

I've always loved old wood soda crates and I've
had this 7up soda crate for a couple of years now and it hasn't really gotten much use. When I decided to make a little coffee station for myself I knew I wanted to display my mugs in a unique way and that's when the crate came into mind.  This project was super easy and cost me nothing since I already had everything on hand.

OUR TOP 5 FAVORITE PINTEREST RECIPES

I've been an avid Pinterest user going on five years now and i'm pretty sure that without it my family would be eating rice and beans everyday haha. Other than recipe books (which I only own a couple) Pinterest is always what I use for new recipes. I mean it's pretty much at my finger tips! I have a full house of picky eaters, so it's always tricky trying out new recipes around here. These 5 recipes i'm sharing are some of our favorite meals and we almost never have any left overs.

A FROYO DATE WITH THE LITTLES

A couple of days ago I took the little ones out for a froyo date. It was Aiden's first time eating at Yogurtland and he had a lot of fun picking out different toppings. Now that the kids are a lot bigger it has gotten so much easier to go out with both of them. Only thing I REFUSE to do with both of them is go grocery shopping. NOPE won't do it lol. Here are some pictures from our little date.

SUNDAY OUTING

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."- Martin Luther King Jr

Yesterday my husband and I took the kids out for a stroll near the base. I snapped a few pictures of the kiddos wearing their MLK shirts I made for them (in honor of celebrating Dr Martin Luther King Jr) and we took them for ice cream. We went to our favorite book store and ended the day with Chinese take away. It was a good Sunday.

THE 52 PROJECT- WEEK TWO

"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2016."

We're at week two! And this week I'm sharing more than one picture of my children because I just love catching them in action without knowing I'm there snapping away.

1. My dear Aiden crying because he didn't want to share his toys. 2. Sophia excited about using her camera. 3. Kiddos SHARING their toys. 4. Tiny little feet while washing their hands. 5. Mr Jasper being lazy as always.
