MOTHER'S DAY PICNIC

My goodness it's been a while since my last post. My life has been pretty hectic lately. I started going to the gym again 5 times a week and on top of that I got a job! I haven't had one since 2011 so I'm still trying to get on a schedule so I can have some time to blog. I did however managed to pull off a pretty amazing Mother's Day picnic surprise for my mother and sister. I had been planning it for weeks and finally made it happen this past week. Although my plans did slightly change due to mother nature. People always think San Diego has the perfect weather, which in reality it doesn't. So instead of having the picnic at the beach I had to settle with our neighborhood park which I'm not going to lie had me pretty upset but in the end everything turned out alright.
For the picnic I didn't intend on cooking anything. It was the middle of the week and my husband and oldest were off at work and school so I wasn't going to have much help at home with the kids so instead of cooking I settled for some yummy sandwiches, salad and pasta I purchased from Stone Oven. Treats I purchased at Von's which weren't so bad and a yummy naked cake I ordered from Amy's Cakery
For the decorations I bought a ton of candlestick holders at the thrift store and sprayed painted them gold. Flowers were from Trader Joe's and the eucalyptus leaves were a gift from mother nature. A lot of stuff I already owned so I just incorporated it all. Everything turned out great and everyone had such a fun memorable day. I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!!
