happy easter

Happy Easter everyone!
I apologize for not blogging as much as I usually do. I have been super busy preparing for Sophia's first birthday and haven't really had time to do anything else. Her birthday is next week, so after that I'll be back to my regular blog schedule ;)

Thrifty Thursday Week 19

This link party was created to bring together all of you thrifty bloggers! So link up with your blog post showing your recent thrifted finds!

Got this on my recent trip to California.
I seriously need to find a new thrift store. I went to goodwill yesterday to find they changed their way of pricing (again) and are charging some pretty ridiculous prices! I was super bummed! It used to be my favorite place to shop and it's only 10 minutes away.
How's thrifting in your neck of the woods?

1. Follow your hosts through GFC or Bloglovin'
2. Link your post with your thirfted things. (can be from thrift stores, flea markets, swap meets, craigslist, estate sales, etc)
3. Visit one another. Make new friends!
4. Grab the button and add it to your blog.
5. Share this with your friends! Let's grow this awesome link party!

baby fever

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

I might just have some...
A few days ago I photographed my friend/neighbors little cutie. It made me miss my almost ONE year old being that tiny and fragile. I asked by hubby if you could have another one.
He said no :(
Maybe he'll change his mind soon! ;)

traveling with an 11 month old

Thursday, March 21, 2013

When I first flew to California from New Jersey I was  pretty confident about flying with Sophia. She was only 3 months old and I figured she would sleep most of the flight. Which was exactly what she did. Now at 11 months, I was kind of freaking out. I was worried she would be crying, loud and restless like other kiddos I have seen. I did some research and most moms suggested bringing toys and such but Sophia gets easily bored with them. I was so relieved that she did so great on both flights to and from. Some people even mentioned that they had no clue there was a baby on board. She slept half the flight and was awake for the other half. She only cried once when she woke up from her nap only because she was hungry.  Here's what I used for the trip.
1. One of Sophia's favorite snacks. I love how it's not messy at all. 2. Although Sophia hardly eats baby food she still likes these pouch ones. Their small enough to take on the plane and easy for her to just suck out of. 3. I took 6 pouches, enough to make 3, 8oz bottles and only ended up using 2. You're allowed to fill your bottles with water you just have to let security know and they check the water with some machine to make sure everything is good.  4. Sippy cup because she LOVES water.

5. Portable DVD player, very light and easy to pack. 6. I couldn't find baby headphones so I got ones similar to these and they worked fine. 7. Sophia's favorite DVD. She loves little einsteins
8. Baby ergo, that I purchased a week before the trip. It's life changing (haha) I can't believe I waited so long to get it. It makes things so much easier instead of pushing a big ol stroller around. 9. This little stroller was purchased in California, I didn't want to carry Sophia the entire time I was out there so this was perfect.  This one is light and small and was easy to haul around after going through security.

California Sunshine

March 19, 2013

Last week me and the girls flew to California for a week. It was a total surprise for my brother and sister that had been planned for over a month. I was so excited to be going out there but was super nervous about flying with an 11 month old. To my surprise, everything went super smooth and I'm actually thinking about going back this summer. We were only there a week and it was hardly enough time to enjoy visiting my family.
I did however go with one plan, and that was to take Sophia's birthday invite pictures. It's too cold and gloomy to take them here in New Jersey so I had to take advantage of the warm weather Cali has to offer. One of my favorite places to shoot at is an Indian Reservation in San Diego. There are tall beautiful grass fields and the sun during the "golden hour" is stunning. However, I couldn't make it out there. A few days before coming back I spotted an empty house lot and was perfect to snap some pictures. Here are a few of my favorites.
